Meet Bronnie, Deputy Head Boarder for 2022

Bronwyn Goss, or Bronnie as she’s fondly known, has been elected Deputy Head Boarder for 2022.

What do you hope to bring to the boarding community in your role as Deputy Head Boarder?

I hope to create a more caring and comfortable community. By making the community more relaxed, allows younger and older girls to have more of a relationship. I want to help continue boarding’s positive and welcoming nature for every new or old girl in the community.

What do you love about boarding?

I love the friendships, memories and independence boarding creates. I have made many friendships I hope will end up being my lifelong friends. Not only with the girls in my year but also girls older and younger than me. Not only have I created many friendships, but also endless memories. I will remember these forever. Coming to Boarding also helped me to build my independence. I have had to learn to do things for myself, like my own washing. I have also learned new things I wouldn’t have if I didn’t come to Perth, like catching public transport.

Where are you from?

I come from a sheep and cropping farm about two and a half hours southeast of Perth called Darkan.

If you could sit down and have a conversation with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be and why?

It would have to be Heath Ledger. He came from a school like the one I am at now and became a world-known actor. I find it really inspiring that he could get so far coming from a place that we are all familiar with. Having a conversation with him would be very interesting. I would hear all the challenges and exciting things he lived through while becoming an actor and everything he accomplished.
