Mini Vinnies Spread Positivity
Our Mini Vinnies students have been busy spreading kindness around Santa Maria College. Over Terms 3 and 4, they created heartfelt affirmation cards filled with positive messages. These cards are now available in the Years 5 and 6 classrooms, and an ‘Affirmation Station’ will soon be set up in the library.
The idea is simple but powerful – a ‘grab and go’ station where any student can pick up a card and feel an instant boost of encouragement. Messages like “Believe in yourself” and “You are valued” remind students they are supported and capable.
Through this initiative, the Mini Vinnies have shown how small acts of kindness can create a ripple effect across the College. Not only are they lifting the spirits of their peers, but they’re also learning valuable lessons in leadership, compassion, and social responsibility. By creating these affirmation cards, Mini-Vinnies members are empowered to make a real difference, showing that leadership often starts with simple, thoughtful actions.
From the Students
“I enjoyed being creative, finding new affirming words and fun images. A highlight for me is knowing that we can help someone if they are having a bad day. I think the affirmation cards will help students feel more positive about themselves and inspire them.” Ayla
“A highlight for me would be knowing that we are working towards helping people be more positive. I also enjoyed being creative, finding new affirming words and using fun images.” Lily
Join us in celebrating their work as they continue to spread positivity throughout our community!
