Music Students Shine at 2024 Eisteddfod
The hallways of the McAuley Building were alive with music as the extraordinary talents of around 130 students filled the air during the annual Instrumental and Vocal Eisteddfod, held last Sunday.
Each note and melody echoed through the building, creating an atmosphere of excitement and creativity. This much-anticipated event, a true highlight of the Music calendar, featured a diverse range of performances across seven sessions, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of parents, friends, and supporters who were captivated by the vibrant sounds.
More Than a Performance
This Eisteddfod is more than just a performance opportunity—it’s a chance for students to inspire and be inspired by their peers, building confidence and honing their stage presence. The day was made even more special with the presence of Rebecca Kinsella, who served as the adjudicator, offering thoughtful feedback and encouragement to each performer. Her insights were invaluable, helping students to grow not just in skill but in self-assurance. Every participant also received a certificate, a tangible reminder of their hard work and dedication.
Thank you
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the students who took part in this music event. Your courage and dedication are truly commendable. A special thank you to the parents, friends, and music tutors who supported the students, as well as to Arielle Lu for providing beautiful piano accompaniment and Jessica McLean-Black for her assistance throughout the sessions.
Lastly, the event would not have been possible without the meticulous planning and dedication of Michelle Hunt, who managed everything from timetabling to logistics with impeccable attention to detail. Her efforts ensured the day ran smoothly and successfully.
The 2024 Eisteddfod has set a high standard, and we look forward to seeing these young musicians continue to grow and excel.
