The 14 Cambodian immersion students have been meeting weekly in preparation for their tour at the end of the term. They will be working in poor schools with primary aged children, undertaking games, art and dance activities. They will also be assisting in building houses and toilets for poor villagers. Additionally, whilst staying at the Jesuit Refugee Centre in Siem Reap the girls will have the opportunity to construct wheelchairs.

We have been extremely fortunate in the past to have cotton dresses made by Home Economics teacher, Jo McBride and her team of volunteer students. Additionally, our Art Technician, Jaye Quinn engaged her mother, Mary Hummerston, to sew some beautiful cotton dresses that will be distributed to poor girls, on our upcoming immersion. We are extraordinarily fortunate at Santa Maria to have so many generous staff and students who are prepared to reach out to those in need in Cambodia over the past six immersion trips.
