As one of the biggest sports in Australia, each Saturday in winter, thousands of girls and their supporters can be seen on netball courts around the country. For four of our girls, their passion and dedication to the sport have paid off with selection to State Netball Teams.

Congratulations to Indiana Squiers, Maya Kenny and Georgie Cleaver who have been selected to play in the Western Australian Under 15 State Netball Team. The girls will be competing in Queensland in July.

Congratulations also to Cleo Kenny who was selected to play in the Under 17 State team, which competed in Brisbane last month and their team won bronze.

Each of the girls said the best thing about playing netball, was being part of a team, and the friendships they’ve made through the sport. Indiana said “I love playing with a great team of friends as it makes the game even more enjoyable and you get to experience your wins and losses together as a team. You also get the privilege of growing stronger friendships and having a wider network of friends.”.

The girls are expected to take on extra training in preparation for their upcoming games. Georgie said, “We are required to attend a two-hour training session on Friday after school, and a two-hour training session on Saturday morning.”

We asked the girls a few questions about their involvement with the sport.
