Our Year 11.5 Religion & Life ATAR students have been learning about the Australian Plenary Council 2020. Its purpose is to discern what God is asking of us in Australia at this present time. To prepare for the Council, all Australian Catholics are invited to think about the future and about the Catholic Church in Australia. Today, students were given the opportunity to engage in a process of reflection and dialogue. Their ideas were collated and submitted as part of the preparation for the Council. Our students enjoyed having a voice in the future of the Australian Catholic Church. Here is what some of our girls had to say:

“This is an exciting time for the Catholic Church as it gives everyone an opportunity to be heard” Jenna Bain

“It is an honour to be a part of such a monumental time in the Catholic Church and using my voice to influence change” Sofia Basso Betancourt

“This has provided me with the opportunity to express my opinions, views and hopes for the Australian Catholic Church” Gillian Whitehead

“Providing a voice for the youth of the Catholic Church, discerning and reflecting on our future with guidance from God, the Holy Spirit and others in the Church” Stephanie Haines

All Australian Catholics are encouraged to make a submission. More information can be found here.
