Halfway There: Celebrating the Milestone of Halfway Day!

The past few weeks have been busy for our Year 12 students, filled with exams, work placements, co-curricular activities, and various other commitments. But on Monday, they paused to celebrate an important milestone in their Year 12 journey!

During lunchtime, the Year 12s gathered in the alfresco area to mark the halfway point of their final year at the College and reflect on their achievements thus far. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation for the bright future that awaits them.

Amidst the festivities, the girls enjoyed homemade cupcakes whilst listening to some classic tunes. The highlight of the event was the inspiring speeches delivered by our Head Girl, Nishi, Deputy Head Girl, Lily, and Principal, Jennifer Oaten.

Jennifer told the girls, “I encourage you to appreciate everything you have in the remaining weeks. Every day is precious to building relationships with each other, connecting with younger students and doing your best academically. The time will go by so incredibly fast.”

Julie Schubert, Dean of Students, Year 12, talked about the importance of celebrating this day and what it means for our students.

“Halfway Day is a tradition at the College, signifying the midpoint of the Year 12 academic year. In a year that may bring moments of stress, it holds significance to pause, gather as a cohort, and celebrate the accomplishments thus far while acknowledging their halfway milestone. This occasion also becomes a cherished memory for the girls during their final year. The accumulation of these small moments along their journey contributes to the overall uniqueness and significance of their final year experience.”, says Julie.

It was a truly special moment as our Year 12 students came together to acknowledge their progress and reinforce their commitment to success. We are immensely proud of their dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm. Their unwavering determination sets a shining example for the entire College community.

A massive congratulations to all our Year 12 students for reaching this significant milestone. We look forward to witnessing their continued growth and accomplishments in the months ahead!
