Holly Awarded Best Bowler
Congratulations to Holly Gresele who was recently recognised at the Perth Scorchers Girls League Awards Night held at the WACA. Holly was awarded U15s Best Bowler after taking 19 Wickets with an average of 4.21. Her award was presented by Piper Cleary of the Perth Scorchers and WACA CEO Christina Matthews.
Holly also received the Best Bowling Award and Best Average Bowling Award at the South West Metropolitan Junior Cricket Council Awards Night. She’s had a great season captaining Bateman Junior U15 side through an undefeated season and grand final, where she also took out Club Champion and the Club Bowling Award.
Holly has been playing cricket since trying out for after-school cricket in 2016. Since then she has played two seasons of club cricket for the Bateman Junior Cricket Club, district cricket at Melville Cricket Club and was also selected to play Women’s B grade at Melville this year. Holly became involved with cricket through her dad’s love of the game, having played himself. “…this inspired me to start when the co-curricular was offered at school and I just loved it from then on,” Holly said.
We asked Holly what she loves about the game? “I love the atmosphere, especially when we get wickets, and the friendships that are built through playing.”
Holly’s favourite cricketers are Ashton Agar and Nicole Bolton.
