Snorkelling Excursion to Rottnest
Last week, 84 Year 9 Recreational Studies students headed off to Rottnest for their snorkelling excursion. The excursion is the culmination of their snorkelling unit, where they learn all the practical skills required to snorkel safely, as well as communication and safety skills.
The girls were split into eight smaller groups. Each got to experience snorkelling at different bays around Rottnest, meeting at The Basin, for the final snorkel of the day.
The students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and learnt a great deal about Rottnest and the interesting marine life around the island, while further developing their snorkelling skills at the stunning bays we visited.
The girls will now complete a group assignment based on their experiences at Rottnest, regarding skills, safety/risk management, environmental awareness and trip planning.
