Congratulations to Year 7 students Grace Foster and Georgie Cleaver, who have been selected to represent Basketball WA in their club team at the Australian Junior Basketball Championships in Victoria, during the October school holidays.

Both girls play for the Willetton Tigers. They have been training for this competition since playing in a qualifying carnival in March. In that carnival, their team was undefeated, earning them the right to play in the Championships.

The girls have been playing for some years, Grace since she was 7 and Georgia from 6 years of age.

Grace said, “I absolutely love basketball, as it is a team sport and I get to challenge myself to get better and improve my skills and my game. I am really looking forward to travelling with my team as we all have so much fun together.”

Georgie said she “loves playing with teammates and learning new things each day. I enjoy competing and I am really looking forward to the opportunity to travel interstate with my team to play against the best in Australia.”

Good luck, Girls!
