Point Walter Under Year 7 Scrutiny!

Year 7 Humanities & Social Science classes headed off to Point Walter this week, where they examined the liveability and sustainability of the Point Walter area.

Department of Parks and Wildlife ‘Nearer to Nature’ group tailored the field trip for our students to investigate the Swan River. The girls looked at the river catchment (using a scale model), conducted site surveys by collecting data on animal life, human use of the river and land use. The girls tested river water, to observe its condition, drew a field sketch and did an audit of bird life and rubbish at Point Walter Reserve.
