What has been your journey since leaving Santa Maria College?
Since graduating I have completed a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours at Curtin University (2017) and am currently studying a Graduate Diploma in School Psychology at the University of Western Australia.
What is one of your fondest memories from your time at Santa Maria College?
My memories of Santa Maria College are the nice Masses, and fundraising walks. The day that we always looked forward to was the big carnival for Mercy Day.
Those who knew me in high school might remember I was involved in competitive karate. I continued to pursue a competitive karate career and have represented Australia at three Senior Oceania Championships, the Senior World Championships in 2018, and numerous Olympic qualifiers from 2018-2020. Training and competing full-time in 2018/19 was a great experience, and even lead me to live abroad in the Netherlands for a year. Based on my international ranking I was Australia’s representative for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Qualification tournament (results here would determine Tokyo Games selection). Unfortunately, this event was cancelled due to COVID-19 and there is currently no indication regarding what the new processes will be.
I am grateful for all the opportunities I have had since leaving high school and, although as a teenager I never thought I would, I do miss school sometimes!
