Reconciliation and Sorry Day

As an Australia-wide observance, Sorry Day is an opportunity to join our voices together to speak out against injustice and speak up for reconciliation. 26 May was chosen in commemoration of the Bringing Them Home Report being handed to the Federal government on 26 May 1997.

Today in Wellington Square, Perth our Just Leadership group attended a very special event. The girls prepared and served morning tea to Indigenous Elders and organised activities for the public.

The Just Leadership group is made up of specially selected students from Year 9. The group was created to raise awareness of, and work for, social justice issues. The theme for this term is Reconciliation.
