Santa Maria College Golden Girls Reunion

How can we thank so many for their prayers, efforts, worry and teaching over many, many years to enable us, as past pupils, to return to this beautiful building?

Santa Maria College, enhanced by the welcoming smiles of present day pupils on the lawn,

to the parting promises of ex-students. The Golden Girls lunch was another lovely occasion. Numbers may have been down a little this year, though the joy of seeing a familiar face and the surprise of seeing other ex-students (thanks to the helpful name tags) renews the companionship.

With thoughtful words, Gwen Woods said grace.

A delightful lunch was served by the students, with poise, which did not go unnoticed.

Thank you to all. We listened with interest and respect to the transferring Principal, Mr Ian Elder’s short address and of recent outstanding success in the end of year results 2016. Our coordinator Jacqui Daniels, then spoke of the innovative services alumni can provide.

In groups, our ceaseless talk solved world problems, delivered and received news of families

and grandchildren, spoke of travels, books and of course the recent passing of Sr Mary Claude.

We tried to remember friends and classmates who were not with us and resolved to return

next year and bring others.

Class of 1984 – Celebrating their 50th Birthdays!

We love hearing what our Old Girls have been doing. Thanks to the Class of 1984 who sent in these great photos of their 35 Year Reunion.

On Saturday, the Class of 1984 enjoyed a reunion at Coast, Port Beach, to celebrate our 50th birthdays. There was loads of reminiscing and storytelling of the good old days at SMC. Thanks to Audrey and Sandy for organising such a fabulous afternoon, that continued into the evening. We are all looking forward to our next reunion to celebrate 35 years since graduating from Santa Maria.
