Rock Ya Socks Off: Girls Excited for 2020 Concert
- March 12, 2020
If you chat to any of the Music girls, they’ll tell you that Rock Ya Socks Off is the highlight of their year. The concert enables them to show off their hard work and musical talent for family and friends.
For many of the girls, it allows them to try something new. Year 9 student Zima-Jade Henderson, normally plays the piano and the viola but is playing the drums for the first time. Monique Geiles, also in Year 9, is a classical guitarist and very excited to be breaking out of that for the night to play rock music.
The evening showcases 75 students in nine bands, from Years 9 – 12. The girls have been rehearsing throughout Term 1. This concert is part of the subject-based electives for Years 9 and 10 students and General Music Courses for Years 11 and 12 students.
Rock Ya Socks off is in its 7th year. The concert is on Friday 20 March, in the McDonald Building and is open to the whole College community. Tickets can be purchased for $5.00 each from the Music Department.
There will be no door sales on the night.
