For the second year, Santa Maria College held a First XI hockey match against the Como Hockey Academy team. The Santa Maria hockey staff chose the students to play in this match based on performance throughout the season, as well as long-running participation in the hockey program. The team consisted of students from each Year group, meaning most of the girls had never played together before.

Last week the team trained with current Hockeyroo, Madi Ratcliffe, to get some last-minute tips and advice. The final score against Como was 2-0 to SMC, with both goals scored by Year 11 student Tayah Medlen.

We are very proud of the way our girls played, especially our younger students playing against senior girls from Como.
