Georgia Piggott Named Finalist in National Screen It Competition

Congratulations to Georgia Piggott (Year 10) who is a national finalist in the Screen It 2017 competition with her movie The Coin of Time.

The film was directed and produced by Georgia. It is one of only two selected finalist films in the Senior Live Action Category from WA. This is an extremely commendable effort and Georgia’s film will be featured in the ACMI exhibition in Federation Square, Melbourne.

Now in its thirteenth year, Screen It is Australia’s biggest annual student film competition. Run by the expert Education Team at ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image), Screen It is designed to promote rich learning outcomes for screen literacy across Australian primary and secondary school students.

The Coin of Time follows the journey of a 10-cent coin that randomly ended up on the front door step of 16-year-old Sammy.  When Sammy colours in the coin red she starts its course at the local deli and somehow it ends up back in her hands 47 years later. Watch the way the red coin travels through people, places and time.
