Staying Fit At Home with The PE Team
- April 1, 2020
Our Health & Physical Education staff have launched an ‘At Home Fitness’ resource for Years 5 – 12 students with more exercises to be added over time.
The staff are also in the process of putting together some short fitness videos showing different types of things you can do at home, even with limited space or no equipment. Above is a short video from Emma Wood, Head of Sport, with a special guest.
Emma said, “For me, exercising while at home is so important to maintain concentration, and also so your body remembers how to move. I think the girls forget how much incidental exercise they get climbing the stairs at the College each day. The body is like studying for any subject, you have to keep practising so it remembers what to do.
We’ve created some ideas and videos for the girls while they’re at home. We’re no personal trainers, but we do enjoy staying active, and we love that post-exercise feeling. It doesn’t matter if they do 5 or 50 minutes, it’s about showing up, putting themselves first. Anything is better than nothing and their brains will thank them for it.”
The girls can access these activities via One Note. If they have any questions they should contact their Health & Physical Education teacher.
