Students Dive in at Secondary Schools’ Open Water Swim

Eight Santa Maria College students took to the ocean with courage and enthusiasm at this year’s Secondary Schools Open Water Swim Championships, held at Coogee Beach.

The team competed across the 1 km individual event and the relay, showing terrific determination and spirit. A special congratulations goes to Ella, who placed second in the 1 km Year 7 age group, and Elizabeth, who placed third in the 1 km Year 11 age group.

A Strong Team Effort

All eight swimmers: Ella (Year 7), Sloane (Year 7), Siobhan (Year 10), Sophia (Year 10), Alice (Year 11), Elizabeth (Year 11), Lenna (Year 11) and Zara (Year 11), embraced the challenge and supported one another throughout the day. Their teamwork and positive attitude were evident from start to finish.

Pride in Every Stroke

While the conditions offered a genuine test, the girls rose to the occasion with confidence and resilience. They represented the College beautifully, both in and out of the water.

Congratulations to all involved on a fantastic effort.
