Dance Students visited the inspiring production of Dark Emu last week. Our Year 11 and 12 dancers, saw Bangarra Dance Theatre’s production, at the Western Australian State Theatre Centre.
Bangarra is Australia’s leading Indigenous Dance Theatre Company, with dancers representing both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, who aim to create inspiring experiences to change society.
Having studied the Dance Company as a part of our Dance course, we found it inspiring and beneficial to finally see this live performance. The work explored the vital life force of flora and fauna in a series of dance stories, which in turn was a celebration of culture and identity. This amazing performance was truly unique and one we will be able to embed in our future studies.
