Students Shine at the 2025 JIGSSA Athletics Carnival

There was no shortage of school spirit as our Years 5 and 6 students took to the track and field for the annual JIGSSA Athletics Carnival this week. Held at HPC Stadium, the day was a fantastic opportunity for our students to represent Santa Maria College with pride, energy and plenty of smiles.

With schools from across the Junior Independent Girls’ Schools Sports Association (JIGSSA) in attendance, the atmosphere was buzzing with friendly competition and team support. From long jump to relays, shot put to sprints, our girls gave it their all, cheering each other on and pushing themselves to new personal bests.

While the carnival celebrates athletic talent, it is just as much about participation, encouragement and team spirit, and our girls delivered on all fronts. It was heartening to see students stepping outside their comfort zones, supporting teammates and taking pride in wearing the Santa Maria colours.

Year 5 Pennant Winners

We are incredibly proud of the way our students conducted themselves on and off the field. Their sportsmanship, enthusiasm and teamwork were a true reflection of the positive culture we nurture in our Years 5 and 6 program.

We cannot wait to see what next year brings, but for now, congratulations to all our competitors for a day of fun, friendship and fantastic effort.
