Students Take Part In Murdoch University Outreach Program

Yesterday the Year 10 Brain Stem class visited Murdoch University as part of their Outreach Program. The class were fortunate to attend a presentation by a neuroscientist, Sarah Ellington. She outlined her career pathway in neuroscience and explained some of her research projects. Students had an opportunity to participate in a workshop demonstrating artificial stimulation of peripheral nerves and the effect on muscles. There was great excitement as hand muscles were activated!

The girls enjoyed a second presentation by another neuroscientist specialising in physiology and research surrounding electromagnetic therapy. Once again, students observed a demonstration of this technique which raised a range of great questions from the students.

Sincere thanks to the Murdoch University Outreach co-ordinators for organising this great experience for the students.
