Supporting Students with Learning Difficulties – A Holistic Approach
Every student deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their learning challenges or diagnoses. Our dedicated Enrichment team works tirelessly to ensure that students with learning difficulties receive the tailored support they need to thrive academically and personally.
Identifying Individual Needs
Understanding each student’s unique learning profile begins with a comprehensive identification process. This includes incoming assessments, collaboration with families and previous schools, and ongoing teacher observations. This proactive approach ensures that students receive the appropriate support as early as possible.
Targeted Academic Support
For students in Years 7 and 8 requiring additional assistance, specialised Literacy Booster and Numeracy Booster programs are available. These targeted interventions help strengthen core skills, build confidence, and provide the foundation for future success.
Students with ADHD, specific learning difficulties, or other diagnoses benefit from evidence-based strategies tailored to their needs. Staff are trained to implement best-practice techniques, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where students can succeed.
Personalised Learning Plans
To ensure each student’s success, personalised Academic Support Plans or Curriculum Adjustment Plans are developed where necessary. These plans outline specific adjustments and strategies to cater to individual learning needs. Collaboration between teachers, the school psychology team, and external support agencies ensures a holistic approach to student wellbeing and academic growth.
A Culture of Support and Inclusion
By providing targeted support, personalised learning pathways, and a community that embraces inclusivity, students are empowered to overcome challenges and thrive. With the right tools and a strong support system, every student has the opportunity to achieve their personal best.
