Election of 2020 Leaders

This week Harriet Comerford-Smith was announced as Head Boarder for 2019/20 and Mackenzie Goss as Deputy Head Boarder. I congratulate both girls on their election and look forward to working with them.

Boarders Support Relay 4 Life

New Study Program in Boarding

A new Boarding Study Model has been put into place for our boarders. The new plan means fewer disruptions and gives a more homely environment for the girls to study in.

Boarding Leaders Come Together

Leaders from boarding schools across Perth descended upon Santa Maria last week to enjoy a night of great fun and discussion at the annual Boarding Leaders’ Dinner.

New Boarding Deck

A new addition to our boarding facilities, our boarding deck, was recently opened. The deck will provide a relaxed space for the girls to enjoy sitting outside, enjoying the cool breeze and river glimpses.

Orientation Weekend For New Boarders

A group of 27 new boarders and their families joined us for Boarding Orientation last weekend.  We jam-packed a weekend full of activities and wonderful meals to ensure our new community members feel relaxed and comfortable when they return for the start of school in February.

Boarding Turns Pink

Boarding turned pink this week, with the boarders and staff dressing in pink and eating pink food at a special dinner on Wednesday night in recognition of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Netball Grand Finals

The netball season has now come to a close for our boarding teams.  Our teams had a reputation for being strong and competitive but always fair, good sports.  This makes us incredibly proud of the girls.

Farewell to Year 12 Boarders

Several traditional events were held last Sunday to acknowledge the contributions of our current Year 12 group. It was a fitting celebration of their time in Boarding.  Many memories were shared, and the girls enjoyed the significance of the occasion.

Building Commences In Boarding

Building of the new deck adjoining the boarders’ dining room commenced last week with excavation works.  It is anticipated that the project will continue throughout Term 4 and the January holidays.  We are hopeful of being able to enjoy functions at the start of the year in 2019 on the new deck.

Boarders Enjoy Cruising on the Swan

The Years 11 and 12 boarders and their partners enjoyed a fantastic night on the Swan River last Saturday.  Cruising up and down the river on board the Crystal Swan, the girls danced to music mixed by DJ Sam, enjoyed pizza dinner and pretty views of the city at night

Leadership in Boarding

The Year 11 boarders are currently focused on leadership.  As future Year 12s of the Boarding School, they are all leaders regardless of whether or not they choose to submit an application for one of the official roles.

Year 9 Boarders Experience Pastoral Program at Christ Church

Our Year 9 Boarders had a terrific opportunity to join Christ Church Grammar School, for an evening, to experience a new pastoral program being conducted at Christ Church under the leadership of Mr Jarrod Kayler – Thomson.  The program is run over three weeks and during this time the boys are living on campus.
