The sun was out, the temperature was perfect, and there was no wind at the WA All Schools Cross Country event last Friday.
Last week’s Interhouse Cross Country Carnival was the last for the Class of 2019, but the first for the Class of 2025.
Beautiful weather, great House spirit and some incredible performances ensured today’s Cross Country was a great success. The support and encouragement shown by each House to their runners was outstanding.
After training hard all term, the big event finally arrived for our Years 5 and 6 cross country team. This year, Miss Barter was in charge of training. She introduced some new and challenging sessions to ensure our girls were prepared.
Billie Mincham recently won gold at the WA Schools Sports Primary School Championships. She competed in the Year 6 event, running 2500m.
After a stormy week, the weather was kind to us and we had a wonderful afternoon for the IGSSA Cross Country last Friday. The girls had been training hard since Term 1 and were following a different program this year to increase their speed around the course.
On Friday, some of Santa Maria’s runners will compete in the All School’s Cross-Country carnival at McGilvray Oval in Mount Claremont. The girls have been preparing for weeks leading up to the event.
The weather was perfect for the annual Interhouse Cross Country Carnival today with some fabulous results.
Kelly has never won a cross country carnival before! However, we are so proud to announce that in 2018 Kelly has won the interhouse cross country!
On Tuesday 5 September, selected Year 5 and 6 students represented the College at the JIGSSA Cross Country Carnival at Alderbury Reserve. The girls have been training hard this term, with focus given to strategy and determination. Everyone did extremely well.

The cross country season has now come to an end, with some excellent performances at the IGSSA event, our final competition for the year.
