The 2023 Chorale Concert consisted of wonderful performances from Years 5 to 12 Choirs and the AcaMaria’s vocal group.
Rock Ya Socks Off is a much anticipated event of the Music calendar, with student bands performing covers of popular songs.
Music camp was much anticipated this year after the cancellation in 2020. By all accounts, it lived up to the hype.
After months of hard work and dedication, over 230 Music students performed in front of a capacity audience at the annual Music Showcase on Saturday night.

Last week, music students from Years 5 – 12 headed off to the Ern Halliday campsite in Hillarys for their annual Music Camp.  We asked Music Captain Katia Fernandes about the experience and the importance of the camp.
An evening such as the one last night represents the culmination of many week’s work, practice and planning and so I would like to acknowledge the contribution of the following people in making the Ensemble Concert such a success.
Over 550 students, parents and friends poured into the McDonald Wandoo Arena to witness a two and half hour rock concert – Rock Ya Socks Off – on 22 March.

During July and August, the annual Catholic Performing Arts Festival took place in various performance venues across the metropolitan area. A number of instrumental and vocal students from Santa Maria College participated in this event and were commended by the adjudicators for their performances
On Thursday 23 June, 100 students and 10 staff and parents headed off to the Ern Halliday Campsite in Hillary’s for 3 days of music making.
The Term 2 Choral Concert was held on Thursday 14 June. Sincere thanks to the wonderful audience of family, friends and staff who filled the McDonald Building to support the music students. Over 280 students from the choirs, chorales and Guitar Ensemble performed a wide variety of repertoire throughout the evening.
Last night, Santa Maria College music students performed a fantastic two-hour showcase of the repertoire they have been working on for the past 12 weeks.
Last Friday, the annual Rock Your Socks Off Concert took place and was a wonderful success. The night was filled with dancing and singing along to a mix of songs, old and new, performed by the class rock bands.

Santa Maria musicians recently participated in the annual eisteddfod, which was held at the College.
The Term 2 Ensemble Concert showcased the instrumental students hard work over the course of the year thus far, with great performances from the Concert Band, String Orchestra, Swing Band, McAuley Concert Band, McMahon String Ensemble, Flute Choir, Flute Quartet, Guitar Ensemble and the Saxophone Ensemble.
Marking an end to what has been a very busy term for our music students, the Easter Choral Concert showcased not only sacred choral works but also pieces that each choir had prepared in Term 1.
In March the College hosted a concert with bands from Years 9 to 12 performing work from artists like Fleetwood Mac and Smash Mouth.
