Over the next few weeks, we have two exciting Outdoor Education Camps coming up.
As part of our Year 10 Outdoor Education program, students have the opportunity to gain their Bronze Medallion.
Rottnest Island is the perfect place for a spot of fishing, which our Year 11 Outdoor Education students found out at the end of Term 3. The girls completed their final assessment on the island during their two-day fishing camp.
The Year 10 Outdoor Education (OED) students returned from their Year 10 OED Expedition last Thursday. It was another successful and rewarding adventure for the girls. The students abseiled and rock climbed at the Wilyabrup Sea Cliffs, canoed along the Blackwood River, navigated and bushwalked to and from locations and set up camp at various campsites.
Last Friday, the Year 12 Outdoor Education class completed a section of the Bibbulmun Track as part of their Bushwalking Expedition. The expedition was modified from an overnight exercise to one day, due to the weather forecast. They were extremely lucky and enjoyed perfect hiking conditions on the Friday.
The Year 12 Outdoor Education class travelled down south for their Surf Expedition on the last week of Term 1 and over the first weekend of the holidays. Outdoor Education Co-ordinator Rosie Barter reflects on the camp.
The Year 11 Outdoor Education sea trek set off last week, sailing from East Fremantle, heading to Garden Island, Point Peron, Carnac Island and Woodman Point. The girls enjoyed excellent sailing conditions on most days and exploring the different Islands and coastline while developing sailing skills, power boating skills, leadership, snorkelling, camp craft and environmental awareness.
During the last two days of Term 3, the Year 11 Outdoor Education class completed their final expedition assessment at Rottnest Island on a Fishing Camp.
The Year 10 Outdoor Education class have recently returned from their four-day expedition to Karridale.. The girls abseiled and rock climbed at the Wilyabrup Sea Cliffs, went canoeing along the Blackwood River, navigated and bush walked to and from locations and set up camp at various campsites.
Our Year 12 Outdoor Education class had a great time teaching Mrs Ryan’s Year 5 class about some environmental issues in our world today.
Over the April school holidays, the Year 11 Outdoor Education class went on camp to Shark Bay.
The Year 12 Outdoor Education class recently got to show off their surfing skills at their Surf Exhibition camp.
