The Year 6s Win Pennants at the 2026 Winter Games
There was plenty to celebrate for our Year 6 students across this term’s Winter Games, with the girls showing terrific skill, teamwork and determination in netball, hockey and basketball. Across Term 2, they represented Santa Maria with enthusiasm and spirit, and their results reflected both their effort and their skill.
Outstanding Results on the Court
A highlight of the competition was our strong netball performance. The girls claimed pennants in A, B and D Division, with our C Division team also finishing in an impressive second place. On the basketball court, our A Division team added to the excitement with a pennant win of their own.
These results are a wonderful achievement, but what stood out just as much was the way the girls approached the season. They played with confidence, supported one another and kept showing up for their teams game. Winter Games are about learning how to work together, persevere through challenges and represent your school with pride.
A Season to Celebrate
For our Year 6 students, this is such an important stage. It is a time when girls begin to find their voice, grow in courage and discover what they can achieve when they back themselves and each other. The Winter Games gave them every opportunity to do exactly that.
We are so proud of all of our Year 6 girls for the way they competed throughout Term 2 and for the energy they brought to every game. Congratulations to our pennant winners and to every student who contributed to such a successful Winter Games season.
