Three Santa Maria Graduates Awarded Prestigious University Scholarships
We are delighted to celebrate three of our Year 12 graduates, Aeva, Amy and Sienna, who have been awarded the Ngala Kwop Biddi Brighter Futures Scholarship, an exceptional achievement and a wonderful recognition of their leadership, compassion and commitment to making a positive impact in the world.
This prestigious scholarship, the first of its kind in Western Australia, supports young people who have already demonstrated proactive leadership, strong advocacy, and active engagement in creating meaningful change. Valued at $12,000, it is awarded to students whose work aligns with one of Murdoch University’s key strategic themes: Sustainability, First Nations, and Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
Aeva Veitch – Bachelor of Science / Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
Aeva has long been passionate about animal health and wellbeing, and this scholarship will help her pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She looks forward to connecting with others who share her drive and determination.
“This scholarship will allow me to connect with a network of like-minded people and help me to continue to grow my leadership skills.”
Amy Sellers – Bachelor of Criminology / Bachelor of Science (Forensics)
Amy is driven by a desire to support others during their most challenging moments. She sees this scholarship as both an opportunity and an acknowledgement of her dedication to making a difference.
“This scholarship will allow me to explore my passion for science in the real world, with the vision to find hope for those going through the hardest moments of their lives. It means so much to me. It feels like a recognition of years of hard work, not just my grades, but wanting the best for others.”
Sienna Mulgrew – Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Crop and Pastures)
Growing up in a country town inspired Sienna’s love for agriculture from a young age. This scholarship gives her the chance to pursue a future she once thought out of reach.
“This scholarship means everything, as it is giving me a chance to achieve opportunities I did not think I would ever have, having come from a country town. It will enable me to fulfil my desire to work in agriculture, something I’ve loved since I was a kid growing up on the farm.”
