Introducing UniPath (Health Stream) – A New Pathway to Success in 2025

Santa Maria College is thrilled to announce the launch of UniPath (Health Stream) in partnership with the University of Notre Dame, commencing in 2025. This innovative program offers students a clear and supported pathway into health-related undergraduate degrees, ensuring a seamless transition from high school to university.
What is UniPath (Health Stream)?
UniPath (Health Stream) is a 12-week pathway program designed to prepare students for university life and secure entry into undergraduate degrees in Nursing, Health Science, Exercise and Sport Science, or Biomedical Science at the University of Notre Dame. The program is also recognised by Murdoch University and The University of Western Australia.
Key Features
Guaranteed Entry: Successful completion of UniPath (Health Stream), combined with a high school certificate or VET qualification, guarantees students a place in their chosen health-related degree at Notre Dame University.
Hands-On University Experience: Students attend campus one day per week, participate in tutorials, and even join first-year lectures alongside university students.
Skill Development: The program focuses on enhancing study skills, academic writing, time management, and critical thinking—ensuring students are ready to thrive in university.
Why Choose UniPath (Health Stream)?
This program is ideal for students who are passionate about pursuing a career in healthcare but may want an alternative to the traditional ATAR pathway. For example, several students joining UniPath in 2025 have already completed a Certificate III in Health Service Assistance, gaining practical skills and qualifications in Assistant to Nursing.
For others, UniPath offers the flexibility to combine a university preparation course with an ATAR subject, providing a well-rounded educational experience.
Year 11 student Alivia, explains why she has chosen this pathway. “I chose the UniPath course because it gives me a unique opportunity to start university while finishing Year 12. The flexibility of studying one day a week fits well with my Year 12 commitments, and when combined with my high school qualifications, successful completion will guarantee straight entry into a variety of undergraduate programs at the University of Notre Dame.”

Benefits of UniPath (Health Stream)
UniPath offers students significant advantages, including:
- Skill Mastery: Develop academic writing, research, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
