Weekly Wrap Up – Term 1, Week 10
This week at Santa Maria College has been filled with energy, achievement and moments of faith that have brought our community together in meaningful ways. From spirited competition on the sporting field and in the pool to the reverence of gathering in prayer, students across the College have embraced each opportunity with enthusiasm, courage and grace. It has been a wonderful reflection of the rich and varied life of our College community.
Weekly Wrap Up Items:
Years 7/8 AFL Grand Final: The Years 7 and 8 AFL Grand Final was a fantastic showcase of teamwork, determination and school spirit. Students gave their all on the field, demonstrating impressive skill and sportsmanship in a memorable match that highlighted the strength of our junior teams.
Junior IGSSA Swimming Carnival: Our students made a remarkable splash at the Junior IGSSA Swimming Carnival, with our Year 5 swimmers achieving an outstanding equal first place alongside Iona, and our Year 6 swimmers finishing in an impressive fourth place. These results are a wonderful testament to the girls’ dedication, perseverance and the encouragement they showed one another throughout the day.
Lenten Mass: Our College community came together in faith for Lenten Mass, taking time to reflect on this sacred season of prayer, sacrifice and renewal. It was a meaningful opportunity for students and staff to pause amidst a busy term and be reminded of the values of compassion, humility and service that guide us each day.
