Weekly Wrap Up – Term 1, Week 8
This week has been marked by energy, achievement and joyful participation across so many areas of College life. From sporting excellence and academic exploration to music, service and community connection, our students have embraced each opportunity with enthusiasm and spirit. It has been a wonderful reminder of the rich and varied experiences that help our students grow in confidence, compassion and excellence.
Weekly Wrap Up Items
IGSSA Swimming Carnival: Our students represented the College with great spirit. It was wonderful to see their commitment in the pool and their encouragement of one another throughout the day.
IGSSA Volleyball Finals: The IGSSA volleyball finals showcased the skill, resilience and teamwork of our students as they competed at a high level. Their efforts reflected not only athletic excellence, but also the sportsmanship and pride that define Santa Maria College.
Rock Ya Socks Off Rehearsals: Excitement is building in the Music Department as preparations continue for one of the most anticipated musical events of the year. Our talented Years 7–12 Music students are working hard in rehearsals and are already bringing energy, creativity and confidence to a fantastic selection of much-loved hits.
Year 10 Biology: Our Year 10 Biology students have been engaging deeply with their learning, developing their understanding through curiosity, investigation and thoughtful discussion. Their work highlights the importance of scientific inquiry and the enthusiasm they bring to the classroom each day.
Caritas Day: Caritas Day was a meaningful expression of faith in action, inviting our community to come together in support of others. Through this important initiative, students were reminded of the call to justice, compassion and service that sits at the heart of our Mercy values.
Club Italia: Club Italia provided a wonderful opportunity for students to connect through culture, conversation and shared experiences. It was a celebration of community and belonging, highlighting the richness and diversity within our College.
Interhouse Running Festival: The Running Festival was filled with enthusiasm, perseverance and House spirit as students challenged themselves and supported one another. It was a fantastic display of participation and encouragement, with many memorable moments throughout the event.
