Weekly Wrap Up – Term 2, Week 1
The College came back to life this week as students returned with energy, enthusiasm and a renewed sense of purpose for Term 2. Across classrooms and moments of reflection, there was a strong sense of connection and engagement. It has been a vibrant and meaningful start, highlighting the spirit and community that define Santa Maria College.
Weekly Wrap Up Items:
First Day Back: Students were warmly welcomed as they returned for the beginning of Term 2, reconnecting with peers and staff and settling back into the rhythm of College life. The positive energy across campus set the tone for a productive and engaging term ahead.
House PCT: Students embraced a range of creative and active challenges. From designing and showcasing newspaper fashion pieces to enjoying games on the oval, the activities fostered teamwork, creativity and a strong sense of belonging.
REACH Industry Workshop: Students had the pleasure of hearing from Danielle Raffaele, an accomplished journalist and passionate storyteller. Her insights into the media industry and the power of storytelling inspired students to think creatively and consider future pathways.
Year 7 UpGrade Program: Our Year 7 students began their UpGrade journey, building confidence as they transition into high school. Through study skills sessions and the Library-led platform, students are developing essential skills in organisation, financial literacy, time management and digital literacy, supporting their growth as independent learners.
ANZAC Day: As a College community, we paused to honour ANZAC Day with a wreath laid at the Australian flag. This moment of reflection acknowledged the courage, sacrifice and service of those who have served our nation, reinforcing the values of respect and remembrance.
Years 5 & 6 Mass: Our primary students began the term with a meaningful morning Mass, coming together in faith and reflection.Â
