What’s Coming Up in Boarding : Week 6, Term 3, 2020
- August 26, 2020

BOARDING CLOTHES SWAP
We are excited to be having a clothes swap in Boarding. This will take place on Saturday 29 August from 12.00 pm – 4.00 pm in the dining room. To do this, we need the girls to bring in some clothes they don’t want anymore and place them in the baskets provided in each house by Friday 28 August.
On the day girls can purchase pegs (5 for $5 or 10 for $10) using cash, then place a peg (with their name on it) on each item of clothing they would like to have. At 4.00 pm on the day, the items with just one peg, go to the person whose name is on that peg; clothes with multiple pegs – the pegs go into a hat and a peg is drawn from the hat, if the peg has their name on it the item of clothing is theirs!
Funds raised go to Leukemia Research and Diabetes Research. Â
Thanks in advance for the donations and we hope the girls enjoy this fun activity in Boarding.Â
MASS
We are still not able to attend Mass together each week. Each Sunday evening every boarder will receive a pray focus via email. Â They are encouraged to stop at this time to pray for the week ahead.
MERCY DAY BOARDERS’ STALL
Late in Term 3 the College celebrates Mercy Day. On this day there is a wide variety of stalls and activities which raise money for Mercy organisations. We will be hosting a Boarder’s Stall and want it to be the standout stall of the day. What will you be able to donate to this Mercy Day Boarder’s Stall?
JEANS
We are collecting old pairs of jeans. Cathy Smith is going to create a mobile phone holder for the house out of pockets from old pairs of jeans. If we get lots of jeans she will also make a mobile phone holder for each house. Your donations of old jeans will be gratefully accepted!

Laser BlazeÂ
Laser Blaze was a blast, the activity was full of excitement and action packed. I especially enjoyed the last game where we played gang-up chasey, which was super fun. The Aquinas boys were also great company and we each enjoyed getting to know them better. Overall the day was super fun and really enjoyable. Â
Maya Nicholls Year 8
The Years 7 and 8 students had a great time at Port Kennedy Laser Blaze with Aquinas College. Everybody enjoyed it and loved meeting new people and socialising. There were four rounds and you had to sit out for one round. There was a bit of competitiveness between everyone but there could only be one winning team.
Addison Opalinski Year 7Â

Fremantle Prison
Years 9 to 12 boarders attended the Torch Light Tour at Fremantle Prison with Aquinas boarders joining in. There was a lot of talk before the tour of how scared and nervous everyone was as we had heard that a person jumps out at you in the dark and a dummy person is thrown from the top level. And yes, we all screamed!! We had a fantastic time and recommend that we do it again next year!
