What’s New at Santa Maria College?

Over the holiday break, our Facilities & Grounds team have been hard at work enhancing Santa Maria College’s campus to create an even better environment for our students.

Enhancements Across the Campus

Students and staff have returned to find several key improvements, including:

  • New bus bays on Moreing Road – Making bus travel smoother and safer.
  • Refurbished Village rooms and surrounds – Creating fresh and comfortable spaces for learning and community building.
  • Air conditioning in Music tutor rooms – Ensuring a more comfortable environment for our talented musicians.
  • A refreshed McDonald Building changeroom – Providing modern and functional facilities for our students.
  • New doors in all boarding bedrooms (152 in total!) – Enhancing privacy and security for our boarding students.
  • New lockers – Replacing the old ones to offer more practical and durable storage solutions.

Renovations to the Chapel

Our beautiful Chapel has also been undergoing renovations that were started in Term 4 of 2024 and are continuing for the first part of this term. We look forward to welcoming students back for Masses and Rosaries in the coming weeks

Cultural Centre Update

You may have also noticed some exciting changes to the build. The Cultural Centre is coming to life, with pillars now in place and the lower ground floor slab completed. The next major milestone is pouring the concrete for the ground floor. We look forward to sharing updates as this exciting new space takes shape.

Big Thank You

Thank you to our Director of Corporate Services, Tim Stewart, and Alex Chirico, along with his Facilities and Ground Team, for all the work they have done and continue to do to enhance Santa Maria.
