When Are Interviews Conducted for Prospective Students?

Happy Year 5 student in the classroom

Finding the perfect school for your daughter is an important step in her education journey. The interview process at Santa Maria College, is a warm and informative experience, designed to help families gain insight into our community, values, and learning environment.

Interview Timeline for Our Main Intake Years

If you are considering enrolling your daughter, it’s important to know when interviews take place. The two main intake years are Year 5 and Year 7, and interviews are conducted as follows:

  • Year 5 Entry: Interviews take place one year before the student is due to start.
  • Year 7 Entry: Interviews occur three years before the student is due to start, meaning students in our main intake are interviewed while they are in Year 4.

To make the process as seamless as possible, parents will be contacted towards the end of Year 3 to request necessary documents, such as NAPLAN results and recent school reports. This ensures all relevant information is gathered to understand the student’s learning journey so far.

What About Other Year Levels?

While the main entry points are Year 5 and Year 7, applications for other year levels are accepted where places are available. These applicants will be placed on a waitlist and considered as spots arise within a particular cohort.

Every family’s journey is unique, and support is available throughout the process. For any questions about enrolment, interviews, or waitlisting, the Admissions Team is happy to assist.
