Year 10 Students Out in the Workforce

This week saw students in the Year 10 REACH Program working in industry, to experience the reality of work. Students selected where they would like to be placed. Although the majority of students chose to work in placements with children, there were also placements in aged care, fashion design, retail fashion, as well as accountancy.

Students were required to complete a Workplace Learning logbook, keeping a record of their hours, tasks completed and a skills journal. These hours will count toward an endorsed program.

Employers have been overwhelmingly positive about the placements, with a few employers suggesting part-time employment to the students.

REACH students have another opportunity for placements in Term 4 and will expand their placement choices. The girls are now concentrating on completing their Certificate 11 in Information and Digital Media.
