Year 11 Social 2025 – A Memorable Night by the Sea

There are some nights that sparkle a little brighter and leave you with memories that linger long after the final song. This year’s Year 11 Social was exactly that kind of night.

Held at the stunning Fremantle Sailing Club, the venue offered a coastal charm that perfectly matched the occasion. As the sun set over the ocean, students arrived dressed to impress – glowing with excitement, laughter and the joy of a night spent together.

A Celebration of Style, Spirit and Respect

From the moment they walked in, there was a buzz in the air – dresses swayed, suits stood out, and smiles were shared in every corner. Friends gathered for photos, danced and made new memories that will be retold for years to come.

What stood out most was the way our students carried themselves. Year 11 student Ella summed it up beautifully: “I loved the night. It was so well organised and everyone had a really good time. It was so nice dancing with everyone and is definitely a night to remember!”

There was genuine respect in the room – for the occasion, for one another, and for the magic of the moment.

Hospitality and Excellence on Full Display

The team at Fremantle Sailing Club offered a warm welcome and served up a delicious spread of food, while DJ Diesel quickly became a crowd favourite. According to Dean of Students, Peter Hanbidge, “Students and their partners had a fantastic night of dancing, good company, and delicious food. Everyone enjoyed themselves on the night. Diesel the DJ was a particular highlight, with lots of students asking for him to come back for the Father-Daughter Event!”

Behind the scenes, the event was supported by dedicated staff and student leaders who ensured everything ran smoothly. The success of the night was a testament to their planning and care.

Lenna, a Year 11 student, shared: “The Year 11 Dinner Dance was a well-organised and enjoyable event that allowed us to socialise outside of school and meet new people in a welcoming environment. All the efforts put in by the organisers made the night something we will never forget!”

A Night to Remember

The Year 11 Social was a chance to celebrate confidence, friendship and connection. Events like these provide opportunities to grow – to step outside our comfort zones, support each other, and show kindness in the way we interact.

As Chloe reflected, “The Year 11 Social was a fantastic evening that gave us the chance to come together for a fun and memorable formal event. I enjoyed great conversation with our year group, as well as plenty of dancing. Everyone had an amazing time!”

And perhaps Pippa said it best: “The Year 11 Social was honestly one of the best nights of the year. It was a perfect mix of fun, connection, and celebration. It brought our whole year group together and created some unforgettable memories. I’m so grateful for the night; definitely THE highlight of Year 11!!”

We are incredibly proud of our Year 11s for embracing the moment, supporting one another, and living out our Mercy values with grace.
