Year 12 General Human Biology Course Commences

Year 12 students now have the option to choose a Year 12 General Human Biology course, on offer for the first time this year. Twenty-five girls have chosen the course, which started this week.

Head of Science, Ailsa Harris, said that both she and fellow Science teacher Charmaine Samuels are really happy with how the girls are working so far. Ailsa and Charmaine are both teaching the course.

Ailsa said “We have a very diverse group. Many of the girls are doing a Certificate 4 in Nursing, so this course is ideal for them, as well as some who studied ATAR in Year 11 and have benefited from a change in direction.

“We are so pleased with how the girls have settled in and the way they are so eager to learn. We have excursions, incursions as well as guest speakers planned for the year ahead including chiropractors, physiotherapists and doctors”.

In these photos, the girls are doing a long bone dissection and learning about the microscopic and macroscopic bone structure.
