Year 5s Go All In At The 2025 Summer Games

Sunshine, sneakers and Santa colours set the scene for one of the best days on the Year 5 calendar, the 2025 Summer Games. From the very first warm-up stretches, there was a buzz in the air as students stepped onto the field ready for a day full of sport, teamwork and good old-fashioned fun.

This day was about jumping in, having a go and celebrating every moment, from the perfect newcombe ball serve to the wildly enthusiastic tee ball run that may or may not have gone in the right direction. There were cricket catches that surprised even the thrower, AFL handballs sent with determination, and lots of cheering from the sidelines no matter which team was playing.

The day began with skills sessions where students could try out techniques and build their confidence. For many, it was their first time playing some of these sports but that did not slow them down one bit. The girls gave it their all, cheered on by their classmates and guided by staff who were just as excited to be part of it.

When it came time to play, the sports fields came alive. Teams rotated through matches, and the sound of laughter and clapping filled the air. What stood out most was the way the girls supported one another, on and off the field. They encouraged their teammates and kept the energy going right through to the final whistle.

The Summer Games have become a much-loved part of the Year 5 experience, not just for the sport, but for the friendships, the confidence and the memories made along the way. And after a day like this, one thing is for sure: these girls know how to give it their all, have fun, and back each other every step of the way.
