Year 6 Turn Marketers in a Creative Cereal Challenge

Year 6 Turn Marketers in a Creative Cereal Challenge This term, our Year 6 students have stepped into the world of marketing as part of their HASS Economics unit, exploring how the everyday choices consumers make are shaped. They’ve been investigating goods and services, what influences people’s decisions at the shops, and the clever tricks advertisers use to catch our attention. From advertising techniques to food labels, the girls have taken a close look at how brands persuade shoppers to pick their product.

To bring all this learning together, students were challenged to create their very own cereal brand to “sell” at a class market. Each student developed a portfolio outlining their ideal customer, the unique features of their product, and the marketing strategies they would use to appeal to their audience. With their research complete, they designed and built prototype cereal boxes that showcased their branding in action.

The results have been a delight to see. The creativity, strategic thinking, and enthusiasm on display have been outstanding. We wouldn’t be surprised if a few of these cereals made it to real supermarket shelves one day!
