Year 6 Winter Games

The anticipation had been building for weeks, and on Friday, 7 June, the Year 6 students finally embarked on their last round of fixtures for the Winter Games 2024. The students who chose to compete in hockey, netball, soccer, or basketball, formed their teams, and went head-to-head with other students from other JIGSSA schools. We were fortunate that the rain held off for all three weeks of the competition.

Our students excelled across all sports. The A division basketball team tied with St Mary’s for the pennant. The A-division netball and soccer teams both secured second place, while the hockey team finished fifth in their competition.

A huge congratulations to all our students in the games. They all demonstrated fantastic participation and sportspersonship and should be incredibly proud of their efforts.

It would not have been possible without our Year 6 teachers,  for their invaluable assistance and support in the team selection process and for attending all three weeks of fixtures. The event would not have been as enjoyable or smoothly run without their help.
