Year 9 Snorkelling Adventures at Rottnest
Our Year 9 Outdoor Education students traded their classroom desks for masks and fins, this week, as they set off to stunning Rottnest Island for a full day of snorkelling adventure.
Over the past few weeks, the girls have been building their skills in class, learning about equipment, practising techniques, and understanding how to stay safe in the water. Yesterday was their chance to bring all that learning together. Exploring several snorkelling sites around the island, they were treated to vibrant coral reefs, sparkling blue waters and an incredible variety of marine life. For many, it was their first time discovering Rottnest’s underwater world up close, and the excitement was contagious.
Experiences like this remind us why Outdoor Education is so valuable. It gives students the confidence to try something new, builds teamwork and resilience, and encourages them to appreciate our beautiful natural environment.

Congratulations to all the students for their enthusiasm, positivity and willingness to dive in, literally! It was a wonderful day of hands-on learning in one of Western Australia’s most iconic locations.
