Years 5 & 6 Athletics Mini Meet

The Athletics Mini Meet is a fantastic opportunity for students to get involved and put forth their best efforts in a variety of track and field events. This event not only provides a platform for personal growth and achievement but fosters a sense of healthy competition.

This week, our Years 5 and 6 students participated in the Mini Meet, and the girls had an incredible time. They engaged in a diverse range of individual and team events, including long jump, corner spry, and tunnel ball, among others. Despite this being only our second year hosting the Mini Meet, we have already seen such positive outcomes.

Emma Wood, Head of Sport spoke about the purpose behind the Mini Meet. “This is an opportunity for students to trial for the upcoming Interhouse Athletics carnival and compete in a relaxed environment across a range of events.  Students could earn Gold, Silver or Bronze awards for their efforts and they proudly showed off their achievements at the end of the day.”

We look forward to seeing what these talented students can do at the Interhouse event scheduled in Term 3.

At Santa Maria College, we believe that leadership is a journey of learning, not just a title or position. For over 80 years, our Year 12 students have been at the forefront of shaping our school’s culture through their leadership. As one cohort graduates and another takes the helm, the baton of leadership is passed, igniting the potential within each new group of young women.
