Years 5 & 6 Students Shine at Teeball and Cricket Gala Days
There was plenty of sunshine, spirit and sporting action on display this week as our Years 5 and 6 students took part in their Teeball and Cricket Gala Days.
After a term of learning and practising new skills, the girls were ready to put their hard work to the test with a healthy dose of House competition and fun. Year 5 students took to the diamond for a lively day of teeball, while our Year 6 students enjoyed a cricket carnival filled with teamwork and energy.

What Our Students Had to Say
Year 6 Cricket
“I really enjoyed the cricket gala; it was great cheering on my friends and giving it a go out there!” Ava (6.8)
“It was fun to learn how to bowl and hit the ball this term. The gala day was fun to compete against the other Houses to see which House was best at cricket and have fun with your friends.” Kathryn (6.9)

Year 5 Teeball
“It’s been really fun to hang out with our friends while we play teeball. I have enjoyed having the competitions between Houses. All of our skills have got better, and we got a lot of encouragement from our team. It’s really fun to bat and field. It’s my first time playing!” Sophie (5.4)
“I enjoyed learning T Ball because we got to learn it step by step until we got into some fun games at Gala day. Gala day was fun because we had some friendly competition that was filled with team spirit.” Emilia (5.5)
We commend all the students for their outstanding participation. Whether it was trying something new, supporting a teammate, or stepping up to the plate, the girls demonstrated the spirit of Santa Maria College through and through.
Congratulations to everyone who played a part in making the gala days such a memorable experience!
