Types of Gifts

You can make many different types of gifts to Santa Maria College in your will, including:

  • A residuary gift – whatever is left of your estate after all other gifts and expenses have been paid
  • A pecuniary gift – a gift of a precise amount
  • A percentage gift – a specified proportion of your estate
  • A gift of assets – gifts of assets like shares, properties or real estate

Unspecified / Specified Gifts​

If you wish to leave a specific gift to Santa Maria College, please contact our Foundation team. Discussing your intentions ensures that your gift aligns with your wishes and creates the impact you envision. Alternatively, you may choose to leave an unspecified gift, allowing the College to direct your generosity to areas of greatest need.

Unspecified contributions are added to our Endowment Fund, which supports Santa Maria’s long-term growth and success. Your bequest will play a critical role in ensuring that young women continue to access the resources they need to excel.

Consult with a Legal Advisor

We encourage you to consult with a legal advisor and prioritise your family when creating your will. Furthermore, please discuss the contents of your will with them for their comfort and understanding. 

Example General Wording

The following general wording can be used as the basis for a gift to the College in your will.

Pecuniary Bequest

I give my Trustees the following to hold upon trust for Santa Maria College, ABN 69 154 531 870, for its general purposes

The sum of $[insert amount].

I direct that the receipt of the Principal of Santa Maria College, or their authorised representative, shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executor/Trustee in respect of the bequest to the College.

Residual Bequest

After payment of all my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and all duties, taxes, and charges payable on my Estate at my death, I give to my Trustees the following to hold upon trust for Santa Maria College, ABN 69 154 531 870, for its general purposes:

[insert amount]% of the residue of my Estate.

OR

The residue of my Estate.

I direct that the receipt of the Principal of Santa Maria College, or their authorised representative, shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executor/Trustee in respect of the bequest to the College.

Join The McAuley Society

Anyone who makes a gift in their will to Santa Maria College is eligible to be a member of The McAuley Society and gain exclusive access to unique and special events and privileges. This is a means for us to thank you during your lifetime for your generous  investment in the future of Santa Maria College. 

We also respect the privacy of those that wish to remain anonymous. 

There is no minimum gift to become a member of the McAuley Society, simply inform us that you have named Santa Maria College Foundation as the beneficiary of a bequest in your will.
