Welcome to Santa Maria College, a Catholic day and boarding school for girls in Years 5 – 12. Grounded in the Mercy tradition, we are proud of our strong focus on academic achievement, wellbeing, and personal development. Learning at Santa Maria extends well beyond the classroom, through a wide range of co-curricular opportunities, leadership pathways, and real-world service initiatives that prepare our students to make a positive difference.
As a former boarding student and later Deputy Principal of Teaching and Learning at Santa Maria College, I felt deeply honoured to be appointed Principal in 2018. Every day, I am inspired by the talents, spirit, and commitment of our students and staff. Whether excelling in their studies, exploring their creativity, or stepping up as leaders, our girls are supported to thrive in all aspects of their growth.
I warmly invite you to visit our campus, meet our community, and experience the vibrant spirit of a Mercy education. We look forward to welcoming you into the Santa Maria family.

Why Santa Maria College?
Choosing a school is about more than classrooms and curriculum. It is about finding a place where your daughter will be known, supported, and inspired. At Santa Maria College, we offer more than an education. We offer a values-led community where girls are empowered to grow into young women of courage, compassion, and purpose.
As a Mercy school, our values of Hospitality , Compassion, Justice, Service, and Excellence are at the heart of everything we do. Whether your daughter is starting in Year 5 or preparing to graduate, she will be surrounded by caring staff, uplifting peers, and opportunities that help her thrive.
Santa Maria College is located in Attadale, Western Australia, with over 1300 students including 152 boarders. We invite you to learn more, visit us, and experience the Santa Maria difference.
Our Heritage
Santa Maria College was founded in 1938 by the Sisters of Mercy to serve both day and boarding students in the Catholic tradition. Inspired by the vision of Venerable Catherine McAuley, our College has grown from 60 boarders and 13 day students to a vibrant community of over 1300 girls.
Built on Mercy values, Compassion, Hospitality, Justice, Service, and Excellence, our mission is to educate young women who are confident, compassionate, and committed to making a difference in the world.
Located on the banks of the Swan River in Attadale, our story continues to be shaped by a deep sense of community, faith, and the spirit of service that began with Catherine McAuley and the pioneering Sisters who brought her vision to life in Western Australia.
