A Kaleidoscope of Talent!
Last night the Mercy Walk was transformed into a kaleidoscope of colours, textures, patterns and shapes as Visual Arts, Design, Fashion & Textiles students proudly paraded their creations, wowing the crowd with their carefully choreographed items.
Themes ranged from day wear to evening wear, wearable art sculptural pieces, jewellery, punk rock-inspired overalls, and a range of individually designed garments. Year 10 Foods students provided a delicious visual feast for the audience, serving food on artist palette style grazing boards. The static exhibition, featuring artwork from students in Years 7 – 11, was held in the Mercy Gallery, and again providing a kaleidoscope of colour and talent!
Congratulations to all those involved in such a wonderful showcase of talent.,
The Value of Student Voice – Jennifer Oaten
“At Santa Maria College, we are not only given the opportunity, but we are encouraged by our teachers and each other to voice our opinions, concerns and ideas—to continue moving forward as a school and as a community. Student voice is integral for growth, and allows for us, as students to have an active role in shaping our education.”
