Little Ladies In Labcoats Starts for 2020
Our Little Ladies in Labcoats co-curricular started off really well this week. The girls who joined us from Years 5 and 6 explored different aspects of science. They donned their lab coats and shared what they love about science. They also shared what they are interested in and would like to explore.
The girls investigated the diffusion of the pigments in skittles. They used warm water and ‘mesmerising’ milk. Detergent changed the surface property of full-fat milk.
The little scientists had lots of fun. They made new friends, collaborated and learnt a lot. The girls showed their interest by asking the ‘big questions’ like why this happened to the milk and skittles.
The Value of Student Voice – Jennifer Oaten
“At Santa Maria College, we are not only given the opportunity, but we are encouraged by our teachers and each other to voice our opinions, concerns and ideas—to continue moving forward as a school and as a community. Student voice is integral for growth, and allows for us, as students to have an active role in shaping our education.”
Shining a Spotlight on Our Student Ministry Team
This week, we shine a light on a dynamic group of students – our Ministry team, who are doing wonderful things in the Faith space.
