Combat for Year 9s

The Year 9 Drama class has just finished a four-week stage combat course with Nastassja Norwood from Stage Combat Perth.

The girls were taught a choreographed sequence using stage swords. This program is designed to teach the girls new performance skills and build confidence in performance.  They will pair this staged combat choreography with a Shakespearean death scene in Year 9 Drama this term as part of their assessment.

Year 9 student Jaymie Clark said, “It’s been a really enjoyable experience. It isn’t something I would have expected to do in Drama, I felt really powerful. It’s been a really fun experience.”
